So apparently I cannot keep up with a blog everyday! Things have been so crazy lately.. school, work, sleep, eat and repeat! I will get back to that 30 day thing later but for right now I just can't swing it.
I finally came to a conclusion that I am content with everything that has been going on. Growing up has not always been easy but- I am coming to terms with the way things are and couldn't be happier! I am currently in a weird in between stage where I have no idea where I will be in a year! JJ is looking at jobs in the Raleigh area and thinking of opportunities at Cherry Point too. I have limited places where I can do my internship as well and even though things seem out of my control- I don't mind for once.
Off to work!!

Day eight - A picture of your future spouse
This is a picture from the first day I truly fell head over heels for my man, JJ Regan!
I don't even know where to start with comment on him and the impact he has had on my life. The first time him and I ever hung out when we were "talking", I knew he was a trip when he dropped me off at my car after we went and picked out our corsage/boutonniere and he hopped out of his car and blasted "Beat It" by Michael Jackson and had us start dancing, in the middle of the daylight with people even around. We went to the prom that weekend together and I remember the first time we kissed we were slow dancing to Keysha Cole's "Love". I can't forget how many butterflies I had in my stomach when I realized we were about to kiss...and even though the road to where we are hasn't always been smooth, that feeling I have never been able to shake.
The past four years (soon to be five years in April!) really have gone by so fast! Through the long distance we went through for two years while he was up here at college (still got to see him every weekend!) to moving up to college and dealing with such a time that our lives were changing in so many ways- we stuck together. After we moved in together in January of 2009, everything has just gone uphill from there. I don't know if it's because we just got older and grew up some or if we both felt like we could always lean on each other- I believe it's a mixture of both. JJ, you truly are such a unique person and I know you feel like people underestimate you often but just know, I know you will achieve everything you want out of life.
I really could go on and on about how much I love you. Even though we have our little weekly arguments (usually about dishes or what to watch on t.v.!), I think these little things have shown us how to choose our battles and how to laugh it off when we get mad over nothing important! I really can't see my life without you in it and I am so happy I will be your wife this September. I know we can get through anything together because of your mellow way and quirky-ness. No matter what challenges life presents us, we both know we are in this together. Just you and me babe ;) No matter where life takes us for jobs or whatever else, I just want to be with you and the little family we created (doggies, duh!) I am so happy to have found such an adventurous outdoor guy like yourself because that's exactly what I need! Forever and ever, amen honey!
Love,

Your soon to be wifey!

Day seven - A picture of the person you do the most crazy things with
So this is JJ's wonderful older sister, Kara. Like I always tell her, I have never met anyone in my whole life like her. Not even a tad bit. She is so unique! When we all go on trips together, most times the boys will go off and do their own thing and Kara and I get to hang out, which I love! When I say do the most "crazy" things together, it's new experiences that I mean. She was there when I first went to Vegas, my first time skiing (which she taught me the back and forth method rather than bombing the hill), first time I went gem mining.. and although JJ and everyone else was there, I feel like she is usually the one I am cracking up with and planning things with. With her, we always try to be on schedule but that doesn't usually happen but that's what adds to the funniest times! I feel like she has always been like a sister to me and after this September rolls around, I will get to have her as one forever and I am so thankful!

Day five - A picture of something you love
Apparently I skipped day five and went to day six...whoopsie!
Crawfish boils are to die for! I don't know if it's the actual food or the idea that it usually means a group of people are coming together on a gorgeous day to enjoy each others company. I think it's a good mixture of both. I love the way crawfish taste whether it's just in a boil or in etoufee. I wish I could have one of these in my own backyard but I think I will just save it for the next time I go to Louisiana.

Day six - A picture that makes you laugh
This was when I went with my three bambinas to watch the sunrise at the beach. It was awesome to watch the sunrise then to go eat at Four Corners dinner. I think I was just laughing so hard and decided to start doing the robot? Who knows!
This picture makes me laugh because we were all in the McDonald's drive thru and I remember me and Candice screaming, "HE'S A GOOD BOY!!!" (talking about how I baby talk to Rascal). It was soooo funny!!!
This picture was moons ago (I'm the bald baby on the left!) and that's my sister, Mallory on the right! We were so silly!!!
Hahahahahaha having to shower outside!

Day four- A picture of something you'd like to do again
This night was such a blast! It was the first night the three of us ever truly got to hang out.. we danced and sung all night! I was having such a good time, I think I even sprained my ankle! If it wasn't for this night, I don't know if the three of us would have discovered that we were meant to be bambinas for life! I love these ladies and I always know I have a friend in them. No matter what. And I hope they know they always have a friend in me. No matter where life does end up taking up, I would drop everything and be there for them. I love you guys and I am so happy that you guys will be standing next to me while I bite the dust ;) From our trip to Asheville to Rodanthe to Charlottesville to Las Vegas...all the random nights we would go out and "cut a rug"...and all the times we were there for one another when we were sad to "B**** be looking swoll!" or "WAAAA!!!!" I can't wait for our bambina to get back from Spain so we can have more adventures!
And here is for another amazing time I wish I could go back to ...
This girl is like a sister to me! I can't believe all the crazy stuff we did together.. I will always "LYLAS!" Haha! Remember when we used to write each other notes and have the lyrics of that Michelle Branch song in them? The boyfriend rules? Home star runner? Mario's pizza? What about me falling over at your mom's house because I had cramps.. then only to get shove pizza and oranges in my face? Oh gosh.. those days I will cherish forever!!!! I would of posted that picture of us in our red checked pants but I don't have it on the computer.. that's a must though! I miss her now that she is all the way in Texas and it makes me realize how much I should have pestered her until she left to spend every waking moment with me.. that's sort of an exaggeration! And last but certainly not least...
This was such a great day too! I remember Lauren and her mom coming to pick me up (before we could even drive!) and we went to the beach all day then went and picked strawberries on the way home.. this reminds me of summers in Cherry Branch, driving way too fast down ferry road.. and always running to make it to Geometry. All those silly music videos we would make and to think we are now in college and even got to spend our orientation together. The road hasn't always been smooth sailing but everything happens for a reason and now I am so happy to have her around...it's funny how much our conversations have changed from "Can you come out and play!" to "Why won't your Dad let you come!!!" to "What type of flowers are you going to use for your wedding!?" I am so happy to have you back in my life! :)
And now for the conclusion: It's so hard to just pick ONE picture when so many events made me who I am today and I feel so blessed to have these people come into my life and change me for the better! I think I am going to have to do a family/JJ photo throw back here soon...!

Day three - A picture of the cast from your favorite show
This is my favorite show in the whole wide world... DEXTER! This show is the bomb.. not only is Dexter a hottie with ginger side burns but- the show always keeps me on the edge of my seat. Not only that but this show is so addicting that as soon as I start watching it, I know that I can't just watch one episode.. I end up watching the whole season! I am currently on Season 5 waiting to watch the 2nd episode. If you have Netflix I strongly encourage you to get into this show but only if you have nothing planned for a whole day because I am warning you- once you start, you will not stop!

Day two - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest
I would say I have been the closest to my Mama, Kimberly Best, over the span on my life. Not only because she brought me into this world in the first place, but because she has seen me in all the stages of my life.. from crying when Mallory went to her first day of Kindergarten to crying when my boyfriend at the time in 9th grade broke my heart- she's been there. From worrying when I hid in the clothes rack at a department store for a while and scaring the pee out of her to her catching me doing some bad things in middle school, she has been there and never left my side. From watching me take my first steps to watching out onto the soccer field then watching me watch across the stage at graduation, she has been there. For all the times I gave her grief to all the times I almost made her (and myself) laugh until we cried (for example, when she continues to keep dropping the SAME potato salad container about five times because she was too stubborn to try and fit it in another spot in the fridge which is ALWAYS too packed!), she has been there. Sometimes people feel the need to constantly verbalize how they feel about each other.. or they feel a constant need to try and prove there feelings to one another but with us- that is unnecessary. I believe we both know how important we are to one another, and I know for a fact I would probably shrivel up under a rock if she wasn't here. I love you Mama and this is for you!

Day one - A picture of yourself with twelve facts
1. I decided to do this 31 days things because I feel like I am always on the computer but for nothing of leisure anymore. I feel like doing this will help me clear my cluttered head!
2. I was born in Louisiana and I am very proud of that fact. I love Louisiana, not just because my mom grew up there, but Louisiana has so much culture (not to mention, GREAT FOOD!) and there is nothing better than true southern hospitality.
3. I hate the sound of styrofoam.:|
4. I love new cotton socks right out of the dryer... ahhhh....
5. I'm really proud of the person I have become over the years.. I have evolved so much and even though I am different than who I was before, I truly believe I am just an updated version :)
6. I am not very emotional but there are some things that JJ does that make me weak in the knees: wearing the cologne that was on his jacket one of the first times I met him and he let me wear it, when he cooks me a steak like the first time he ever cooked for me, when he makes me stop what I am doing and slow dance with him... :) The list could go on and on but I can't give up my tough front ;)
7. I do think it is disappointing how I do not speak to my biological father anymore. I don't know why I haven't broke down and gotten upset about this fact but the truth is- I feel like the world really does work in mysterious ways and each person has to live with what they have done at the end of the day.. I just hope one day he will come around and try to be friends.. but that's me being an optimist.
8. .. And on the opposite end, I am so blessed to have my step-dad, who I have always called "Mr. Dan" in my life. We didn't get along much when I was in high school but I truly couldn't see myself being the person I am today without him in my life.. I love you and thank you!
9. I want a house full of kids one day with the love of my life (JJ Regan of course!) lots of animals and love! I don't want a big house and I don't want alot of material things.. I just want board games and good hiking boots!!!! And I really don't want any neighbors for two miles (unless it could be the amazing ones I have now!)
10. I am so glad I discovered my major now, Family and Consumer Science Education. As cheesy as this sounds, until I switched to this major, I felt I had no purpose at a four year college. Until I became a part of this major, I felt very insecure in who I was and who I was going to become but now- I feel so sure and satisfied. I can't imagine doing anything but this!
11. Want the key to my heart? Use your manners, smile and laugh often, bring me a coffee in the morning and have an open mind about everything!
12. Right now, I am so annoyed because my dogs are parking in my ears at the poor Asian boy walking by.. these dang dogs- I love them to pieces!!!
Headed to a club meeting then my night class..!!!
<3 Marcy
Oh and here is a picture of myself:
This was such a great day! I was on the James River with JJ, his family and my fellow bambina, Ashley Polk. So glad I got to spend that weekend with her before she left for her European adventure! :)

We can live beside the ocean, leave the fire behind, swim out past the breakers- watch the world die..
So I decided to start writing a blog when I realized I was posting status updates every couple of days on Facebook and that most of the people who could see them could honestly probably give two craps about what is going on in my day...and in an effort to avoid wasting those peoples time, I turned to this :)
I will write more later but two things I want to clear up:
1. You probably shouldn't continue reading this if you don't want to hear about my wedding coming up or if you want to pick out things I write and cause a stir because quite frankly, I don't care.
2. I will probably use song lyrics as my titles because different songs tend to do a better job of expressing what I am thinking than I could and the headline of my blog, "Regression isn't such a bad thing" I felt was a great title because I believe that the way I act now is completely from my life experiences and all the obstacles that made me the person I am today..!:) And in this experience as being a "blogger", I hope I can clarify and make sense of things I couldn't before.
